            This spiral is the very first piece of glass I've constructed in the past 5 years -- since closing down my workshop in Tacoma.  It was built with donation to the Sean-nós Northwest festival in mind, as a way to help raise scholarship funds for folk that otherwise wouldn't be able to attend.  At the same time, it was a great exercise in both shaking out the dust and re-approaching one of my very first pieces.

            I love how every project I actually get down to drafting is technically 'practice' for a much more grandiose project down the road. Anyhow, starting some basic spiral frames to practice some illustrations for my Saol/Súil Chúchulainn window.

            Ah, starting exactly where I stopped years ago.

            A much better photo of the finished panel. I’ve gotten out of the habit of naming each piece, so she’s got the rather unimpressive moniker of ‘Durrow 2014’. Anyone have a better suggestion? Maybe before I take portfolio shots of it, I’ll etch in her new one. I did watch the first two seasons of Dr. Who while leading….
